The Community Learning Network (CLN) transforms lifelong learning, raises educational achievement and embraces diversity by offering programs of study at times and places convenient for Central Indiana residents. Serving as a learning agent for IUPUI, CLN brokers and packages a wide range of courses, seminars and degree programs to corporate clients, community action groups, and individual learners.

What is Workforce Education?
The Workforce Education Division of the Community Learning Network is positioned to help solve educational challenges by serving as your business’s link between workforce education and the many resources available from the largest continuing education program in Indiana. Program content, delivery formats and timing as well as class locations are customized to fit your needs.
Traditional materials and classroom training, blended with highly interactive learning, can be provided on-site at business or at several university facilities.

What is Community Outreach?
Both credit and Continuing Education classes are taught in neighborhoods throughout the greater Indianapolis area. IUPUI recognizes that in a busy society some people cannot come to a campus for learning, so IUPUI takes the learning to people's neighborhoods.

What services are available at the IUPUI Park 100 Learning Center?
The IUPUI Park 100 Learning Center is open Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (open when classes are being held; closed if no classes are in session.) The site has seven (7) student-centered classrooms, a 20-workstation computer lab, an 18-seat conference room, and a student study area. The classroom seating and lighting are designed with comfort in mind and the on-site technologies include Internet connections, computers, ceiling-mounted LCD projectors, screens, and white boards. Conveniently located right off I-465 and West 71st Street, free student parking is plentiful, well-lit and located next to the facility.

What services are available at the Community Life and Learning Center in Carmel?
The Community Life and Learning Center is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The site has 10 classrooms and two computer labs with high speed connection to the internet. The Center has a wireless connection for IUPUI students, faculty and staff. Connections are also available for personal laptop computers. Students may register for courses online, access student records, and obtain the most current information regarding classes.

What are General Studies Information Sessions?
These are sessions in which a General Studies Degree Program advisor will meet with individuals or groups to give in-depth information about Indiana University's degree completion program. The sessions are usually scheduled for an hour.

What is Continuing Education?
Continuing Education offers over 1,000 non-credit classes each year and certificate programs in more than 15 specialty areas. Continuing Education strives to provide educational opportunities for lifelong professional and personal development for IUPUI and the greater Indianapolis community.

What is the course catalog?
The Community Learning Network Course Catalog provides an overview of Continuing Education classes, (including description, date and time, location, fee, parking information, and instructor information), a listing of credit classes offered off-campus and valuable information on distance education courses.

What is a certificate program?
A certificate program is a grouping of classes within a content area that provides the learner with a set of skills related to career development or enhancement. For example, the learner may take a series of computer classes to prepare to become a web designer.

How do I enroll in a course?
1. Online Enrollment
You may enroll immediately using your computer by choosing the desired course(s) from the Community Learning Network Course Catalog or the Online Course Catalog.
To enroll, locate the course(s) you want, click on the Enroll Now icon next to each course number to proceed to the online enrollment form. You may pay online with a credit card, or choose from the other available payment options.
2. Mail Enrollment
Fill out the enrollment form from the course catalog. Make your check or money order payable to IUPUI or complete the credit card information and then mail the form to:

3. Phone Enrollment
American Express, Discover Card, MasterCard and VISA Card holders: call 317.278.7600 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
4. Walk-In Enrollment
Come to the Continuing Education Office in the Union Building; 620 Union Drive; North Wing, Suite 244 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Check, money order, or credit card are accepted; no cash can be accepted.

Online training allows students to acquire necessary skills through courses offered over the internet. In other words, students may access a course at their most convenient time from any place with an internet connection and a commonly used web browser.

What are the requirements to qualify for a course refund for Continuing Education courses?
Call the Call Center at 317.278.7600. If calling after regular business hours, please leave a message. You must notify the Continuing Education office 24 hours before the class begins to be eligible for a 100% refund. If notification is given the day of or the day after a course begins, a 75% refund is given. No refund is given after this time period (only exception is for paralegal classes which have a different refund schedule). In the case of a one-day workshop, 24 hours prior notice needs to be given for a 100% refund, and a 75% refund will be given if notification is made by noon the day of class. Refunds on credit classes are handled through the IUPUI Office of Student Account Services.

How do I enroll in the undergraduate programs?
Please make sure you have read the Undergraduate Application Guide carefully before completing the application to IUPUI. Please complete all items accurately and clearly. You must complete the Personal Information section before you can send this application so that you can be contacted if more information is needed. Missing or incomplete items will delay the review of your application. See information regarding Social Security numbers and ethnic policies. How do I enroll in the graduate programs?
Proof of an undergraduate degree is required. This may be provided at time of application or by the end of your first semester. A photocopy of a diploma or transcript is acceptable. No documentation is necessary if your undergraduate degree is from any campus of Indiana University. Please print and either mail or fax the completed Application Form and proof of your undergraduate degree to the Graduate Office: IUPUI Graduate Office; 620 Union Dr., Union Building 207; Indianapolis, Indiana 46202; Phone: 317.274.1577; FAX: 317.278.2380. There is a $35.00 application fee for admission to the program. What is the General Studies Degree Program?
The General Studies Degree Program is designed to meet the unique needs of adult learners. This includes adults who have never attended college, those who had some college long ago or in the recent past, and those adults who have been attending college for a long time but are not making progress toward graduation. General Studies is an undergraduate interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences degree program that does not have a major. What is the Indiana College Network?
The Indiana College Network is a service of Indiana's colleges and universities working together to make higher education courses available where you live or work in Indiana, via distance education. More than 20 degree programs, from associate through bachelor and master, are offered by satellite television, interactive video, cable TV, videotape, the Internet or computer, or correspondence/independent study.

What are correspondence courses?
Indiana University's Independent Study Program has offered individualized instruction to learners around the world since 1912. Today, the IU Independent Study Program is one of the world's largest programs, offering more than 300 courses from 40 academic departments. As a learner in the Independent Study Program, you decide when to enroll, how to pace your study, and when to take your examinations. You receive personal attention and guidance through a one-on-one relationship with your instructor.

What are the issues to consider before making the decision to take an online training course?
The issues to consider are: 1) Does the student prefer to learn alone or in a group? 2) Can the student schedule time away from work/home to take a traditional style class? 3) Do other obligations (travel, variable schedule, shift work, family needs) make it difficult for the student to attend a traditional class? 4) Is the cost a deciding factor?
