What is Workforce Education?
The Workforce Education Division of the Community Learning Network is positioned to help solve educational challenges by serving as your business’s link between workforce education and the many resources available from the largest continuing education program in Indiana. Program content, delivery formats and timing as well as class locations are customized to fit your needs.
Traditional materials and classroom training, blended with highly interactive learning, can be provided on-site at business or at several university facilities.

What are Learning Centers?
Both credit and Continuing Education classes are taught in neighborhoods throughout the greater Indianapolis area. IUPUI recognizes that in a busy society some people cannot come to a campus for learning, so IUPUI takes the learning to people's neighborhoods..
What services are available at the IUPUI Greenwood Learning Center?
The IUPUI Greenwood Learning Center is open Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (open when classes are being held; closed if no classes are in session). The site has six (6) student-centered classrooms, a computer lab and a student study area. The classroom seating and lighting are designed with comfort in mind and the on-site technologies include Internet connections, computers, ceiling-mounted LCD projectors as well as interactive monitors and white boards. Conveniently located right off I-65 on County Line Road, free student parking is plentiful.

The IUPUI Park 100 Learning Center is open Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (open when classes are being held; closed if no classes are in session). The site has seven (7) student-centered classrooms, a 20-workstation computer lab, an 18-seat conference room, and a student study area. The classroom seating and lighting are designed with comfort in mind and the on-site technologies include Internet connections, computers, ceiling-mounted LCD projectors, screens, and white boards. Conveniently located right off I-465 and West 71st Street, free student parking is plentiful, well-lit and located next to the facility.

What is Continuing Education?
Continuing Education offers more than 700 noncredit classes each year and certificate programs in more than 15 specialty areas. Continuing Education strives to provide educational opportunities for lifelong professional and personal development for IUPUI and the greater Indianapolis community.
What is the course guide?
The Community Learning Network Course Offerings provides an overview of Continuing Education classes, (including description, date and time, location, fee, parking information, and instructor information), a listing of credit classes offered off-campus and valuable information on distance education courses. What is a certificate program?
A certificate program is a grouping of classes within a content area that provides the learner with a set of skills related to career development or enhancement. For example, the learner may take a series of computer classes to prepare to become a web designer.

How do I enroll in a course?
Effective August 17, 2011, our payment policies have changed for the continuing education courses.
You may enroll immediately using your computer by choosing the desired course(s) from the Community Learning Network Course Offerings.
1. Online Enrollment
To enroll online, you need to create a profile. Upon creation of profile, or if you already have a profile, please log in and then proceed to course offerings. Locate course(s) you want, and click on the ENROLL icon next to the course number to proceed.
You may pay online with a credit cardonly.
2. Mail Enrollment
Fill out the enrollment formfrom the Community Learning Network Course Offerings. Make your check or money order payable to IUPUI and mail to:

(NOTE: Mail enrollment cannot be made by credit card.)
3.Walk-In Enrollment
Come to the IUPUI Continuing Education office in the Stewart Center, 518 Indiana Ave., between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please be prepared to pay by check or money order.
(NOTE: No cash or credit card can be accepted.)
4.Company Billings
Companies choosing to pay for employees to attend classes may be billed for classes. Authorization (signed letter or PO) must accompany the enrollment information and may be faxed to Continuing Education, however, an original form must also be mailed. For more details, please call 317.278.7600.
If your employer requires a signed voucher for payment of your classes, you are now required to provide the signed original voucher to Continuing Education prior to being enrolled in a class. If your company does not require a signed original voucher, your company must provide approval of payment for your course fees via company letterhead.

What are the requirements to qualify for a course refund for Continuing Education courses?
For a course refund, call the Community Learning Network at (317)278-7600. If calling after regular business hours, please leave a message. If you notify Continuing Education of your withdrawal at least three business days before the first class meeting, 100 percent of the course fee will be refunded. If you withdraw from a course within three business days before the first class meeting, a 50 percent refund will be issued. After that, no refund will be issued. Please allow six weeks to process a check refund. Credit card refunds may be done within 10 business days. Refunds on credit classes are handled through the IUPUI Office of Student Account Services.
How do I access my CEU's online?
Students who take CEU eligible Continuing Education courses can now print off their own copies of their CEU’s from their student profile. Students cannot access and print CEU’s until 5 days after the class has been completed. Access to CEU’s online will be allowed only for classes taken after February 1, 2010. Credit Programs
How do I enroll in the undergraduate programs?
Please make sure you have read the Undergraduate Application Guide carefully before completing the application to IUPUI. Please complete all items accurately and clearly. You must complete the Personal Information section before you can send this application so that you can be contacted if more information is needed. Missing or incomplete items will delay the review of your application. See information regarding Social Security numbers and ethnic policies. How do I enroll in the graduate programs?
Proof of an undergraduate degree is required. This may be provided at time of application or by the end of your first semester. A photocopy of a diploma or transcript is acceptable. No documentation is necessary if your undergraduate degree is from any campus of Indiana University. Please print and either mail or fax the completed Application Form and proof of your undergraduate degree to the Graduate Office: IUPUI Graduate Office; University Library Room 1170; Indianapolis, Indiana 46202; Phone: (317)274-1577; FAX: (317)278-2380. There is a $35.00 application fee for admission to the program. General Studies
What is the General Studies Degree Program?
The General Studies Degree Program is designed to meet the unique needs of adult learners. This includes adults who have never attended college, those who had some college long ago or in the recent past, and those adults who have been attending college for a long time but are not making progress toward graduation. General Studies is an undergraduate interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences degree program that does not have a major. Students are allowed to have minors, earn certificates, and are expected to gain a broad experience in many areas. For additional information, see General Studies.
What are General Studies Information Sessions?
These are sessions in which a General Studies Degree Program advisor will meet with individuals or groups to give in-depth information about Indiana University's degree completion program. The sessions are usually scheduled for an hour.

Distance Education
What is Distance Education?
Distance Education refers to courses offered through the World Wide Web, cable television, videotape, or via correspondence.
What is the Indiana College Network?
The Indiana College Network is a service of Indiana's colleges and universities working together to make higher education courses available where you live or work in Indiana, via distance education. More than 20 degree programs, from associate through bachelor and master, are offered by satellite television, interactive video, cable TV, videotape, the Internet or computer, or correspondence/independent study.
What are correspondence courses?
Indiana University's Independent Study Program has offered individualized instruction to learners around the world since 1912. Today, the IU Independent Study Program is one of the world's largest programs, offering more than 300 courses from 40 academic departments. As a learner in the Independent Study Program, you decide when to enroll, how to pace your study, and when to take your examinations. You receive personal attention and guidance through a one-on-one relationship with your instructor.
You can earn a bachelor degree entirely through independent study through the School of Continuing Studies. For more information visit the IU Independent Study website.
What is the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System - IHETS?
IHETS is a state-supported consortium of public and private colleges and universities providing technology services, network operations, and facilitation of distance education in Indiana.

What is online training?
Online training allows students to acquire necessary skills through courses offered over the internet. In other words, students may access a course at their most convenient time from any place with an internet connection and a commonly used web browser.
What are the issues to consider before making the decision to take an online training course?
The issues to consider are: 1) Does the student prefer to learn alone or in a group? 2) Can the student schedule time away from work/home to take a traditional style class? 3) Do other obligations (travel, variable schedule, shift work, family needs) make it difficult for the student to attend a traditional class? 4) Is the cost a deciding factor?
